Ferien - Holidays

Am ersten Ferienwochenende war ich mit meinem Freund in einer kleinen Hütte mitten im Nirgendwo. Natürlich lag sie an einem See und es war eine Sauna und ein Barbecue-Häuschen dabei.

The first weekend of my holidays I spent with my boyfriend in a small cottage in the middle of nowhere. Of course there was a small lake, a Sauna and a barbecue place.

 

Die Natur war richtig schön und wir hatten auch Glück mit dem Wetter. Nachdem der erste Schnee gefallen war, kam die Sonne raus und wir wanderten ein bisschen in der Umgebung.

Da es keine Wege gab, sind wir einfach durch den Wald gelaufen.

After the first snowfall the sun came out and we could really enjoy the nature.

In the forest, there was no trail, so we went straight through it.

 

Von einem Hügel aus hatten wir dann auch eine schöne Aussicht.

We also went up to a hill and had a really nice view.

Am Dienstag sind wir dann mit Leona nach Turku gefahren. Dort haben wir uns die Stadt ein bisschen angeschaut und uns abends mit Theresa und ihrem Freund getroffen.

On Tuesday we went to Turku and Leona joined us.

There we made some sightseeing and in the evening we met Theresa and her boyfriend.

Am Mittwoch sind wir dann mit dem Bus auf eine Insel vor Turku gefahren und haben dort eine kleine Wanderung zum Meer gemacht.

Leider war es ziemlich neblig und man hat keine anderen Inseln sehen können, obwohl es dort sehr viele gibt!

Aber es war trotzdem ein sehr schöner Ausflug!

 On Wednesday we took a bus to an island near Turku, where we were hiking a bit.
Unfortunately it was quite foggy and we couldn’t see any other islands, although there are plenty!
But anyway it was a nice trip.

Am Donnerstag ging es dann weiter nach Helsinki. Unsere Wohnung lag fast direkt am Meer und in der Nähe vom Designer Viertel.

Wir haben uns Helsinki ein bisschen angeschaut und am Freitagabend waren wir dann noch auf einem Eishockeyspiel. Die Mannschaft von Helsinki hat ihren Gegner mit 6:0 ins Aus geschossen, das war ein schönes Spiel!

On Thursday we went to Helsinki. Our apartment had a great location: really close to the sea and almost in the design district.

Of course we also made some sightseeing here.

On Friday evening we went to an icehockey game. The team of Helsinki won by 5 goals to 0. That was a nice game!

 

So gingen die Ferien auch ziemlich schnell vorbei. Aber sie waren sehr schön!

Thus, my holidays passed by quickly, but I really enjoyed the free time!

Die siebte Woche in der Werkstatt – The seventh week in the workshop

 

Diese Woche habe ich die Kette fertig gestellt.

Dazu lötete ich die Kette, die ich auf der GSW pro gekauft hatte, an den Anhänger.

Therefore I soldered the chain to the pendant, which I had bought at the GSW pro.

Außerdem habe ich für mein Abschlussstück weitere Rohre hergestellt und ein bisschen ausprobiert.

Am Donnerstag hatten wir dann einen Schulausflug. Der ganze Gold- und Silberschmiedebereich der Schule ist mit einem Bus gefahren. Wir sind etwa zwei Stunden gefahren und waren dann in einem kleinen Dorf an einem See. Dort haben wir uns dann eine Email und Silberschmiede Ausstellung angeschaut.

Nach einem Kaffee und ein paar Fotos ging es dann auch schon wieder zurück nach Lahti.

On Thursday the goldsmithing and silversmithing part of the school made an excursion to an enamel and silversmithing exhibition. After a two hour ride by bus we arrived in a small village.

Then wevisited the exhibition, had a cup of coffee and after some fotos we went back to Lahti.

GSW pro in Helsinki

Am Wochenende war in Helsinki GSW pro, eine Messe.

Dort sind wir hingegangen und waren sehr überrascht. Wir hatten eigentlich damit gerechnet, dass die Messe zum Thema Uhren und Schmuck ist, aber es war einfach alles da!
Schuhe, Klamotten, Taschen, Brautmode, alles Mögliche zum Thema Styling, Lebensmittel und dann noch ein kleines Eck mit Uhren und Schmuck.

Es war ganz interessant sich das mal anzuschauen, aber dann haben wir erfahren, dass es noch einen kleinen Bereich gibt, in den man nur als „Professioneller“ darf. Das war dann eigentlich auch die GSW pro.

Dort konnte man Steine, Schmuck, Verpackungen und Werkzeug kaufen.

Ich habe mir ein paar Steine und eine Kette gekauft.

In Helsinki was a fair called GSW pro this weekend.

On Saturday we went to the fair and were really surprised. Actually we had only expected to see watches and jewelry, but that wasn’t the case at all.

There were shoes, clothes, bags, bridal fashion, everything about styling, food and a small part with watches and jewelry.

It was quite interesting to see those things, but then we realized that there is a small area only for professionals, the GSW pro.
There you could buy stones, jewelry, packaging and tools.
I bought a few stones and a chain.

Endlich ist die Schale fertig!

Finally I have finished the bowl!

 

Nachdem ich die Innenseite geschliffen hatte, habe ich den Boden gehämmert.

After I have sanded the inside, I hammered the floor space.

 

Danach habe ich die Innenseite poliert.

Then I polished the inner face.

 

Den Boden habe ich von unten auch noch geschliffen und poliert. Vorher habe ich ihn gut abgeklebt, sodass die gehämmerte Struktur rund herum nicht beschädigt wird.

I also sanded and polished the floor    space from below. Before that, I taped it very exactly, so the hammered structure around couldn’t get damaged.

 

Anschließend habe ich die Spitze gebogen.

Then I bent the tip.

 

 

Nachdem ich die Schale gründlich gereinigt hatte, habe ich sie dann noch versilbert.

Zum Schluss habe ich sie dann noch per Hand poliert.

In der Woche habe ich außerdem noch einen Ring angefertigt.
Der Ringkopf ist geschmortes Silber, was ich anschließend noch geschwärzt habe.

Für mein Abschlussstück habe ich außerdem ein paar Rohre selbst hergestellt. Allerdings zunächst zur Übung. Bald werde ich damit aus Silber anfangen.
